Prof. Gail S. Goodman, Distinguished Professor of psychology and Director of Center for Public Policy Research is at University of California Davis. She is credited for starting the modern study of children's memory and eyewitness testimony, as well as the application of child witnesses when in court. Professor Goodman regularly publishes her work and has been awarded many grants and has received numerous internationally and national awards. Her work has been with numerous governments and organizations throughout the world in research and guidelines pertaining to child victims of the justice system. She is consultant to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center) of the Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She is a fellow of numerous professional groups, such as that of Association for Psychological Science and the American Psychological Association (Divisions Experimental Psychology Developmental Psychology Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice American Psychology Law Society Psychology of Traumatic Stress and Women 56). She also is a founding member of the American Professional Society for the Abuse of Children, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development as well as the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. Professor Goodman was the chief of the American Psychological Society's three divisions including Division American Psychology Law Society, Division Developmental Psychology and Division Society for Child and Family Policies and Practice.
